Wooden church from Josani - Budești

The church was included on UNESCO’s World Heritage list in December 1999. This church was built in 1643 from oak in Maramures style, the expression of skill acquired over time in woodworking, expressing the community’s culture and tradition.

Traditions occupies a very important place in the hearts and lives of this county of Maramures, which is why there is intense lives every holiday be it secular or religious, folk and religious celebrations is compulsory.

Traditional crafts

Budeşti inhabitants have always been hard-working people, working and lands, Animal Care and noncommercial some crafts to make a living for and to showcase their skills. Of specific crafts village are making twigs hats, wood carving and weaving gates.
